Michael Grove, CEO

Michael is the Founder and CEO of CollabWorks® (, a software and professional services company. After many interviews and workshops CollabWorks has developed a revolutionary process called Work-as-a-Service® (WaaS). The process empowers employees to improve both the work and their talent to their mutual benefit. Michael leads a thought leadership community committed to improving work, worker, and workplace.
Michael has been a CEO for 25 years and has deep functional experience in sales, marketing, engineering, and program management in a broad range of businesses including - aerospace, renewable energy, M&A, semiconductor, systems management, social networking, and productivity tools. He is an expert in blending on demand contingent workers to optimize employee talent.
Michael's earlier funded ventures include: Open Country, a leader of remote systems management; Introplus, a social matching-engine company; and MicroModule Systems, a semiconductor packaging company. Prior to founding these companies, Michael was a Director of New Ventures at Lockheed-Martin. He has published numerous papers, received several patents, and coached a variety of startup companies.

Lee Penning, CIO

Lee joined the Collabworks leadership team in April 2011, overseeing CollabWorks Information Technology strategy, as well as having overall responsibility for the day to day IT operations and customer support for Collabworks.
Prior to joining CollabWorks, Lee held the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Photon Dynamics, Inc., where he had responsibility for the corporate business systems and network infrastructure worldwide. Previously, as CIO of Spectrian, he led the organization toward a virtual company vision that allowed employees to perform their job functions from anywhere in the world.
Lee has also held senior level information technology positions at FCS/New Millennium Technologies, Inc. a Y2K software conversion services company and Nextron Communications, Inc., a web site creation and hosting company. Earlier in his career, Lee worked for Deere & Company holding several positions within its Information Technology organization at both unit and corporate levels.
Lee received an MBA from the University of Iowa and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Upper Iowa University.

Stan Scardino, Sr. Vice President Business Development

Stan is a high technology sales, marketing and business development executive with over 25 years of experience leading both established companies and start-ups. His career has been primarily focused on products that were highly complex and conceptual in nature such as Tandem Computers; Oracle; Netscape; Commerce One & Vitria. His leadership has developed sales models that allowed his company’s to team direct sales and services organizations with indirect sales and services partner organizations to maximize channel reach and minimize channel conflict.

Gary Edwards

Mr.Edwards assumed the Chairman role at Maxcess International after the successful merger of Maxcess and Webex where he was previously CEO. Prior to joining Webex Mr. Edwards was CEO of Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI), a global supplier of tooling for the plastics processing industry. As CEO of EDI he introduced lean manufacturing concepts to achieve best in industry lead times, expanded EDI’s Asian footprint by establishing a Japanese manufacturing presence and expanding China operations, completed a strategic acquisition and successfully led the company through a divesture that resulted in significant gains to the private equity owner. Prior to joining EDI, Mr. Edwards was CEO of Tyden Group, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of cargo security seals, utility meter products and accessories and product marking equipment, with manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia. As CEO of Tyden he led the company successfully through a significant industry turndown and completed multiple transformative acquisitions. Prior to joining Tyden Group, Mr. Edwards was President and CEO of Phillips and Temro Industries, a leading manufacturer of diesel engine and exhaust related components. Mr. Edwards held various management roles before becoming President and CEO in 2001. As President of Phillips and Temro, Mr Edwards doubled revenues by acquisition and by market expansion, including the establishment of a manufacturing and distribution presence in China. Prior to Phillips and Temro, Mr. Edwards held management roles at Coldstream Products of Canada, a supplier of refrigerated storage systems for commercial and retail applications. Mr. Edwards has extensive experience in leading global suppliers of highly engineered products across numerous industries, with a focus on lean manufacturing, acquisition integration and organic growth initiatives. He has an MBA from the University of Manitoba and a BS in Engineering from the University of Regina, Saskatchewan.

Terry Petracca

Terry Petracca is the President of PetraccaHR LLC, bringing over 35 years of management and human resources experience to organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. Her recent work and passion has been the new frontiers of Strategic Workforce Planning, Predictive Analytics and HRIS optimization. She also has extensive experience in Total Rewards and HR mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration. Terry views WorkFirst initiatives such as WaaS™ as the next leap forward in Strategic Workforce Planning for the Shared Workforce. She is currently focusing on the three legs of engagement in the Shared Workforce: affinity through Storytelling; Rewards and Recognition; and Leadership.
She has been a featured speaker on Big Data at several global conferences, the HR Strategy Forum, and the Cornell Club. She presented at the 2014 WorldAtWork Total Rewards conference on “Next Gen Rewards: Where Strategy and Data Meet”. She authored Storytelling: The Secret Sauce of HR Analytics in the February 2015 workspan Magazine.

Connie Fredrickson-Bray, Partner Human Capital

Connie Fredrickson-Bray is a global human resources expert, partnering with executive / senior level leadership and board of directors, designing and implementing human capital and compensation related programs to meet evolving business strategies, as well as overseeing organic growth, organizational changes, mergers & acquisitions. She currently provides coaching and mentoring to individuals, provides general advisory and consulting services basis to companies or individuals. She was the Vice President Human Resources with Zoran Corporation, a consumer electronics company, which was acquired by CSR, plc. Prior to Zoran, Connie served as Vice President Human Resources at ChipPAC, Inc. that provided assembly and test contract services in the semiconductor industry. Previously, she served as Director Human Resources International at G.D. Searle & Co., a wholly owned pharmaceutical subsidiary of Monsanto, where she gained her experience in international human resources. Connie began her career at Monsanto in accounting and finance. She earned her B.B.A. from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa and has a Certificate in Human Resources from the University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, California. Connie is a member of the Northern California Human Resource Association (NCHRA) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Thomas Hallgren, UX/UI Product Design and Branding

Thomas brings over two decades experience as a designer, creative director and business owner with a long list of industry-related awards. Thomas started his second technology design company, Fiinex, in 2008 to provide mobile app design and development for communications, game, social, auto and medical-related clients in the US and Japan. Thomas also brings extensive branding, systems and motion design expertise, having created memorable branded messaging for many top international entertainment and technology brands. Prior to Fiinex, Thomas was a designer and creative director for agencies Pittard Sullivan and Razorfish before founding Red8 Studios Interactive to serve clients in the US, Japan and China.

Derek de Oliveira, Product Management

Derek brings to the CollabWorks team a diverse software consulting background working with a number of firms including Chevron, Abbott, Oracle, EA, Adobe, PricewaterhouseCoopers and many others. He is a software technologist who has worked with clients to build a range of software and database driven solutions. His portfolio includes enterprise automation workflow and integration engines, credit card processing software, sales force optimization tools, stock option expense amortization solutions, and mobile applications.
